Gil Gomes

Gil has over ten years of experience working in the P&C insurance industry and is the Managing Director, Finance at Max Insurance where he leads the operational Finance and Treasury functions. Gil has revamped the Company's financial and regulatory reporting functions as well as spearheaded the transition of the Group's financial reporting to the new insurance accounting standard, IFRS 17.

Gil's career also includes significant financial reporting roles at public Canadian financial services companies, Definity Financial and Sun Life Canada providing him with valuable experience in both the P&C insurance and investment asset management sectors. He further developed his expertise at public accounting firms Ernst & Young and Collins Barrow.

Since joining Max Insurance in 2018, Gil's leadership has been instrumental in navigating the Finance department through rapidly changing times. Gil is a Canadian CPA, CA and holds a B.A in Commerce from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario.
